Last Monday saw us leave behind our Manly Vale unit for the last time, taking just us, the kids and what precious little possessions we could cram into the camper trailer. First stop was Jace's folks' place at Ilford where we put together the finishing touches to the trailer since they have plenty of space to open up the whole tent. With comfy bedding and extra water storage installed, and a new front deck for the grandparents house thanks to Jace (and his back), we hit the road headed for Tamworth.
It was a good first leg for the kids, and we were all set up in time for dinner. We managed to survive the first cold night hitting 3degrees. It seems all the new bedding I bought after our freezing xmas trip seemed to pay off. Mind you, both Jace and I are in agreement to get North as soon as we can.
Saturday morning came with the much promised visit to the Golden Guitar, no doubt the first of the "big"novelty photoshoots that will come as we travel around the country. Kids satisfied ( and Jace too!), we then spent half a day packing up the campsite(I hope that gets shorter) and then finally got away on route for Dorrigo.
We set up camp at "The Lodge" which is just a farmers paddock, but conveniently located next to Dangar Falls. Today we dragged the kids on a 6km walk around Dorrigo National Park in search of waterfalls, which turned out to be quite impressive. Probably more impressive to us was the fact that Ella managed to walk at least 5 of the 6kms, and it was a bitumen track so Ash enjoyed the comfort of his stroller.

But as the picture tells, they sure were worn out :-)

Its last night in Dorrigo tonight so we've set up a little campfire and done the toasted marshmallow thing, and then we're off to Yamba tomorrow.
